O-Week 2009 Part 1

Another year of O-Week at Sydney Uni.

Unlike in 2008 when the EU faced some difficulty in carrying out it’s O-Week plans, this year was quite different. There was some uncertainty as to how many people would visit the EU stall and sign up for the EU. Despite our concerns, over 600 students visited the EU stall and either signed up to join the EU, or wanted more information about Christianity.

During the week the EU ran free BBQs (giving away thousands of sausages), played giant Jenga, laser Tag, and was involved in the Union’s central program. Now some of the hard slog begins - the joyous and yet daunting task of trying to help each of the 600 people. To try and help them individually. Personally. To try and help them become closer followers of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Many of them are your brothers and sisters - you just haven’t met yet ! Will you remember them in your prayers?

Father in Heaven,
We give you great thanks for the many who made commitments to join the EU. May they grow in their knowledge and understanding of you while at Uni. And we pray for those who wanted in investigate Christianity - may they come to a saving knowledge of truth in Jesus.
Amen
