Supporters Update

Round the Grounds

A very big thank you to all who have been asking about life, family and ministry at Sydney Uni. Here's a brief update.

Family
All are well and have enjoyed a 2 week school holiday break. #6 has started school well and seems to be enjoying it. MB has gone back to Uni to do further study at the Conservatorium. Church continues to go well at Bexley North.

EU at Sydney Uni
The mid-semester break was a chance to draw breath for the next 7 weeks, and then AnCon. I had the privilege of speaking evangelistically around Easter at the AFES group at UTS (Credo) as well as the ACES biblestudy groups. The talk appealed to people to consider the certainty of life after death. We have also started working through lists of names of people who would be suitable as ministry apprentices (Howies) in 2010. If you are aware of anyone who might be suitable please let me know.

Upcoming talks
I am speaking at the Law weekend away in a couple of weeks. The EUers in the Law Faculty have been praying for and asking their non-Christian friends to attend. With the hope of having a number of non-Christians I'm speaking from 1 Thessalonians on the topic of 'The Christian life'. I am also working on some material for staff training on prayer. And over the horizon - although it's already taking up some of my mental space is a paper on Creation vs Theistic Evolution.

Fund Development
The fund raising continues. It is slow gradual work that cannot be rushed and requires patience and diligence. It is humbling to be reminded of your dependence on others. This has been true for me in the last few months. It is encouraging to hear of graduates who speak highly of their EU experience and are keen to support financially. It was also very encouraging to have some people from a previous church continue to be supporters. If you would like to support me financially please email me and I will send you the paperwork.

Father in heaven,
We give you thanks for those who, yet living in darkness, have heard of your saving work in Jesus. We pray that you would soften their hearts and in your mercy bring them back to yourself. Please continue to provide financial support for the EU Graduates Fund that they might have their needs adequately met. Please be with the Law students as they invite their friends to attend the weekend away - give them boldness and diligence in their invitations.
Amen
